Test Centre: Fuji Norcom Straight 2.5

But the most important thing about the Norcom Straight is the fantastic ride it delivers. In a word, it's excellent. It feels light. it responds instantly to every input, accelerates easily on flats and climbs and turns with the agility of aroad bike. For a tri-specific bike, it's certainly one of the most comfortable and responsive on the market at this price point.

2015 Triathlete Buyer’s Guide: Fuji Norcom Straight 2.1

For a bike that’s ready to race out of the box at a reasonable price, Fuji builds this version of the Norcom Straight with a dependable mixed Shimano Ultegra groupset and deep-section clincher wheels from house brand Oval. Without upgrading a piece, this kit has no weak points (except maybe the saddle). Ride quality is where the Norcom Straight stands out. It finds a near ideal balance between stability and agility; the feeling of outstanding torsional stiffness helps translate every steering input to the road.

On Display: Fuji Norcom Straight 2.1

Of the dozen or so tri bikes I've tested over the past couple years, the Norcom was far and away the easiest when it came to dialing in the fit…It's definitely a bike that shines in the flats (like the section of road it's named after), but the low weight makes it an excellent option for courses with a little more undulation.

Fuji Norcom Straight – Final Thoughts

The Norcom is so much more than an easy-to-fit TT frame. Instead, it was one of the fastest bikes we have ever had at AG headquarters. What’s more, the 1.3 at its new $5,399 price point is incredibly well positioned for those looking to move up to a race-ready bike with the minimum amount of extra equipment needed. Fit may have come first, but we think Fuji has created a complete package.

BIKE REVIEW – FUJI NORCOM STRAIGHT

In previous evaluations of the brand, RIDE has maintained that Fuji creates some of the best products on the cycling scene. The only reason I might hope that this doesn't apply to the Norcom Straight is that I'm not keen on trying to beat opponents who are riding a bike that could improve their races times as much as this Fuji is likely to.

Fuji Norcom Straight - Triathlon Magazine

It's a clever design and it should definitely go on your shopping list if you're in the market for a new tri bike…There are only a few bike companies that understand the difference between time trial and triathlon – particularly the needs of your average age group athlete – and Fuji now ranks among this select group.

Fuji Norcom Straight - Road Magazine

Not having to take a hacksaw to the seatpost was a nice way to start out the fit, and when going for a more extreme position, the stem stayed tucked in the bike's head tube…The thin, sculpted frame gave it a feel of all speed and no bulk. When the speeds picked up or even for short out-of-the-saddle accelerations, I immediately noticed the ultra-stiff bottom brackets, as the bike handled the power without flinching.

Fuji Norcom Straight 1.1 - First Ride review

Launched last month, the 1.1 sits at the top of the five-bike Fuji Norcom Straight line-up. The bikes are designed to be highly adjustable - in fact, Fuji say they offer more positioning variations than any other high-end TT or triathlon bikes out there. So, does the 1.1 deliver?

With the slogan, “When Seconds Matter, Fit Comes First,” Fuji is staking its claim that the bike fits a wider range of body sizes than any other aerodynamic “superbike.

First ride: Fuji Norcom Straight

Fuji pulled the veil off its first new TT/Tri bike in three years, called the Norcom Straight, at an event in Boulder this week. Although I only got a brief ride on it, my first impression is that the bike is an impressive achievement that puts Fuji squarely in the pack of front-runners like Cervelo, Trek, and Cannondale.

Fit Comes First On Fuji's All-New Norcom Straight Speed Machine

Three years ago, when Fuji set out to replace their much loved D6 tri bike they knew it had to be fast, but more importantly it had to fit. In Fuji’s 114 year history, the making of the Norcom Straight marks their most ambitious project yet. Fuji doesn’t just look at the Norcom Straight as their latest and greatest Tri bike, but on a larger scale as the current pinnacle of their design and engineering efforts.

Fuji launches Norcom Straight TT/tri bike

On Tuesday in Boulder, Colorado, Fuji launched the Norcom Straight, which the company claims has more positioning options than any other top-end time trial/triathlon bike on the market. Industry veteran Steven Fairchild, who started with Fuji in 1985, began work on the project three years ago with the goal of building a fast machine that looked as good to a fitter’s eye as it did to an aerodynamic engineer.

Fuji ups its game with the Norcom Straight

I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for Fuji. Maybe it’s because the first road bike I ever owned was a hand-me-down Fuji, or maybe it’s because the only bike shop in my hometown was a Fuji dealer and so that’s what all the kids kicked around on. Whatever it is, I’ve always been fond of the brand, but more so in the nostalgic sense and not so much because I’ve been blown away by the technology that goes into their bikes.
